Mexico stocks higher at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC up 0.35%
Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Staples and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 0.35%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV:LABB), which rose 6.24% or 1.04 points to trade at 17.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:BIMBOA) added 4.84% or 3.27 points to end at 70.90 and Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:GCARSOA1) was up 4.04% or 5.42 points to 139.61 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALFAA), which fell 3.76% or 0.42 points to trade at 10.75 at the close. Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (BMV:GFINBURO) declined 2.70% or 1.20 points to end at 43.27 and Coca-Cola Femsa SAB de CV (BMV:KOFUBL) was down 2.20% or 3.64 points to 161.66.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 124 to 111 and 19 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.09% or 2.05 to $2,327.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 3.19% or 2.41 to hit $77.94 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 2.78% or 2.21 to trade at $81.83 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.78% to 18.24, while EUR/MXN fell 0.95% to 19.63.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 104.73.
